This is the second tent of this kind that I have owned. The first one lasted me for a good 6 to 8 years and I camp about 4 to 5 times a year.
Overall this is a very nice tent. It’s quite roomy. You can sleep 4 on the ground but if you use a cot then only 2. You can get 3 in on a cot but it’s very tight quarters. The height is tall enough for me to stand-up (I’m 5’10). So it is nice when you have to change clothes.
There is a small hook that hangs down in the center. It’s nice for hanging a small battery lamp for a night light.
For day use, you can roll-up the front entry flap and secure it with a elastic loop that is sown into the tent. In the back you can unzip the secondary flap to create a window.
Set-up is not difficult. One person can do it but easier with two. With practice, it can be set up in about 10~15 min.

There are a few things you should know about this tent, else your expectations may not be met. If your needs match the strengths of this product, you should be plenty happy (like me), or vise versa. I found all the info I needed to decide to buy it online, with the exception of one phone call to the manufacturer. They were very helpful and honest, BTW.
They call it a 10×18, but that does not mean a 180 sqft area (I think it is more like 116 sqft). I would not take a trip knowing the weather was going to be pretty bad, with this tent. Four season tents usually cost a fortune, and my family is NOT well suited for extreme camping, so this tent works fine for us. The room ‘dividers’ are just flaps that attach at their four corners, so if you want to camp with three couples, stand by to get close (hey, its just a tent!).

I will state right up front, that I am not a hard core camper. I do not backpack 10,000 miles into the wilderness in the middle of the winter and spend weeks trapping gophers and distilling melted ice to survive. That said, I do go on a lot of weekend and 3 day camping trips in the spring, summer, and fall, and so far, this tent has been the best tent I’ve owned for that purpose.
I only have 2 gripes and they are minor. First, I’m not a big fan of the way the front diagonal poles are stabilized. All the rest of the poles, pegs, and fasteners on this tent are rock solid stable, but for some reason the 2 poles that hold up the front are just resting on the ground with no other support. It seems to me that this makes the front of the tent more unstable than the back, and COULD (never happened to me though) fall in high winds. Second, I think any tent this big really needs a cargo door on the back or sides. Personally, I dont use this tent as a “2 bedroom” tent, we use the back to sleep and the front to store gear. But if you did use it as a 2 bdrm, you would have to step over the people in the front to get out.

We purchased this tent for Bonnaroo 2007. The first one to arrive had some problems but as usual Amazon was lightning fast with a replacement and we were ready to take off for Manchester, Tenn. The special feature we like about this tent is the ability to attach the tent to our rental SUV. It worked flawlessly and was very easy to accomplish. We really enjoyed being able to stand up inside the tent and have all the SUV space to store things and reach them easily from inside the tent. Set-Up: The strength and durability of the aluminum poles are definetly worth the investment. You don’t have to worry about snapping the poles unlike the fiberglass poles. I recommend putting the poles in the base “fastex” clips first, and then attaching the plastic clips on second. It’s not really clear in the instructions. If you just bought this tent, I recommend practicing pitching the tent a few times. The first run took almost 30 minutes. I was able to set up this tent in under 10 minutes by myself. Always, always use a footprint or tarp when camping to save you from damaging the tent floor and moisture from the ground. Be sure to sweep your area of pine cones and small rocks. I also recommend getting beefier stakes. I’ve read the MSR Groundhog stakes are nice, but I got some $3 plastic ones at Walmart for a set of 6.

After hours upon hours of tent searching I arrived at this one but found very few reviews associated with it. I purchased it for my wife and I to go camping for our first anniversary while I was home on leave from Iraq.
The first thing that I noticed is that it is a heavy tent! No big deal if you’re driving to the camping spot and unpacking your truck right there but you probably won’t want to be backpacking this thing into your site. Dome tents are designed for more headroom but that adds to the weight factor as well.
The tent, the fly, the stakes, and the poles all come in a nice gym bag type carrying case that says jeep on the side. I absolutely LOVE it because the material is strong and will protect your tent while it’s in storage. It has two handles that make it more than easy to transport. The overall weight is between 35 and 40 pounds. My former cheaper tents came in poorly constructed bags that ripped and fell apart over the years. This one’s carrying case is wonderful and will last as long as your tent!

I’m not a regular camper (but I’m willing to start)! I practiced setting up this tent one time before taking it camping, and that was good enough. My son and I were able to easily set it up at our campsite even though we got there after dark. We didn’t get to test it out on harsh elements like some other reviewers did, in fact the mountain weather was quite pleasant, but that gave us the opportunity to enjoy the *moon roof*. I had no problems with the zippers. The shoe vestibule worked very well for us, keeping our shoes dry and the tent floor relatively clean. The ceiling storage unit kept my eyeglasses within reach and from getting bent. I absolutely can not imagine having four people in there! We could have fit it one more adult without too much difficulty, but I liked the space I had, with just one teenager along. The *storage room* is not a separate room, but just kind of makes the tent bigger. Overall, it’s well worth the money.
